Big and bright as Youth of the 80s Disco returns to Ballymena in aid of Cancer Research UK

Get out your brightest and tightest fashion, and get teasing, frizzing and curling for big hair, as the Ballymena Youth of the 80’s Annual Charity Disco returns in aid of Cancer Research UK.

What originally started out as a Facebook group, set up by Noel Hutchinson, Ballymena Youth of the 80's transformed into a much-anticipated annual charity fundraiser after the local man partnered with Alwynne McLaughlin, manager of the Cancer Research UK charity shop, located on Ballymoney Street in the town.

As with previous years, the event, which always offers the best laughs and brilliant craic, will be hosted in the Adair Arms Hotel, Ballymena, on February 4th 2023, marking World Cancer Day.

Speaking to Love Ballymena, Alwynne was keen to put on record her sincere thanks to the hotel, as well as popular local DJ Davy Wilkinson, both who offer their support to the charity event without any cost.

Alwynne went on to say:

"It’s always a great night - just 80's music all night, and of course some people come dressed up in their best 80's gear, but dressing up is optional!

"We always get a tremendous response with a full house, it truly is a fun night. Everyone has a great time dancing, catching up with old friends and getting their raffles tickets called."

Tickets for the Ballymena Youth of the 80's Annual Charity Disco are now on sale. Priced £10 each, tickets are available from Cancer Research UK shop on Ballymoney Street, or at Partyzone, Greenvale Street.

Over 18's only.
