Rescue operation launched after man enters river in County Antrim

Emergency Services were tasked to the Station Road area of Glarryford, outside Ballymena, on Monday afternoon (13 December) after a man is understood to have entered the Clough River.
Two Appliances from Ballymena raced to the incident after receiving a call shortly after 3pm, along with police and HEMS Air Ambulance.
The Station Road was closed for a time while the incident was ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said:
“Police and other emergency services attended the scene of a report of a man entering the water in the Glarryford area of Ballymena this afternoon (Monday 13 December). There are no further details.”
It is locally reported that a person was recovered from the water, and transferred from the scene by Air Ambulance, however the man’s condition is unknown.
