A sterling effort by the team at The Halfway House, near Broughshane, resulted in a donation of £6,685 being presented this week to Macmillan Cancer, a charity that offers emotional, physical, and financial support to those diagnosed with the disease.

A spokesperson for The Halfway House commented:

“Yesterday we presented Macmillan Cancer with a cheque for £6,685 for our annual Christmas donation.

“Special mention to Portglenone man, Ronnie Fullerton (70), who because of a medical appointment could not attend our sponsored walk.

“Not deterred Ronnie decided to ride 500 miles in 8 days in an indoor bike. Ronnie collected £1250 on his own an amazing amount and an inspiration to us all!

“Thanks to Ronnie and everyone who contributed to this year's walk and a thank you to Hardy Brothers Ahoghill for suppling refreshments for the walk on the day.”

Well done everyone!
