The much-anticipated Balmoral Show returns to the Eikon Exhibition Centre this week, running from Wednesday 14th to Saturday 17th May 2025, promising an engaging and informative experience for visitors of all ages.

Among the key attractions this year is the Supporting Safer Communities marquee, hosted by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), offering invaluable advice and support tailored to rural and farming communities.

A wide range of PSNI teams will be present, including representatives from Crime Prevention, Public Protection, Rural and Wildlife Crime, Business Crime, Neighbourhood Policing, and Roads Education.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to connect with partner agencies who work alongside the police in safeguarding rural areas.

As well as informative displays and guidance, attendees may get the unique chance to meet some of the PSNI’s Police Dogs and their handlers, adding a hands-on and engaging aspect to the marquee experience.

Speaking ahead of the show, Lisburn and Castlereagh District Commander, Superintendent Kelly Moore, said:

“We are delighted to see the return of the much-loved Balmoral Show here in Lisburn. The show provides an excellent day out for everyone and I want those attending to enjoy a safe and memorable experience.

“Help us to help you by being patient and by driving and parking responsibly, with consideration given to other road users and pedestrians. Please allow extra time for your journey and follow the guidance of our officers and parking marshals on the ground, only parking in the designated locations provided.

“Patrons and vendors should also be aware that the use of drones on site is strictly prohibited by the organisers.

“I very much hope you enjoy your time at the show, and be sure to drop by the Safer Communities marquee to meet our PSNI representatives and partner agencies in attendance – we look forward to meeting you.”

The PSNI’s participation underscores its continued commitment to preventing and detecting crime in rural areas and tackling issues that uniquely affect farming and countryside communities. The initiative aligns with the force’s broader efforts to support safer, more resilient communities through education, partnership, and proactive engagement.

Rhonda Geary, Operations Director at Balmoral Show, joined Superintendent Moore to officially launch the initiative this year, reaffirming the collaborative approach between local authorities and event organisers.
