Ballymena hairdresser Chloe Houston has beaten some of the biggest names in British hairdressing to claim a prestigious national award, adding another major achievement to her growing reputation in the industry.

The talented stylist from Houston Hair on Ballymoney Road won the Creative Image Award at the Creative HEAD Most Wanted Awards, held at Drumsheds in London before an audience of more than 600 hairdressing professionals.

Her victory saw her triumph over established industry figures, including session stylist Danilo Giangreco, global stylist James Earnshaw and British Hairdresser of the Year nominees Errol Douglas and Tracey Ann Smith.

Award-winning creativity on the international stage

Chloe secured the accolade with a striking jade green hair creation, recognised for its imaginative concept, technical styling and visual impact.

The winning image formed part of the same collection that previously earned her the Newcomer of the Year title at the British Hairdressing Awards.

Her work has since attracted international attention, appearing on magazine covers around the world and showcasing the creative talent emerging from Ballymena.

The Most Wanted Awards celebrate leading creative hairdressing talent across the UK and Ireland, with entries assessed by a panel of prominent hairdressers, photographers, beauty journalists and influencers.

Chloe shares excitement at remarkable achievement

Reacting to her latest success, Chloe expressed her disbelief at winning against such highly regarded competitors.

She said:

“I am over the moon to receive this award – I was up against industry heavyweights who have won awards and create incredible images.

“To be a finalist was an honour, but to win this is unreal, I couldn’t believe it when my name was announced!”

The award represents another significant milestone for the Ballymena stylist, whose creativity has now earned recognition at two major industry competitions.

More award hopes for Ballymena salon

Celebrations could continue at Houston Hair, with two more members of the Ballymoney Road salon nominated for major industry honours.

Simon Houston and Tori Smyth are both nominated for Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards.

The winners are due to be announced at a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London's Park Lane in November.

With Chloe's latest success and two further nominations, Houston Hair is enjoying a remarkable period of national recognition, placing Ballymena's hairdressing talent firmly in the spotlight.
