A local pharmacy team in Ballymena has raised an impressive £1,515 for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, following their participation in the Belfast Marathon Relay earlier this year.

The cheque was presented by members of the Ballee Pharmacy relay team to Air Ambulance volunteer, Zillah, during a recent visit. The funds were raised through the team’s marathon efforts, combined with additional community support, including a coffee morning and local donations.

Team members Andrew, Lauren, Stephen, Nina and Jacob took part in the event, completing the marathon relay in support of the life-saving charity. Although Jacob was unable to attend the presentation, the rest of the team proudly handed over the cheque.

Speaking after the presentation, Ballee Pharmacy said:

“Well done to Andrew, Lauren, Stephen, Nina and Jacob again for completing the relay and for all their fundraising efforts! We personally think they done a fantastic job.

“A big THANK YOU must go to everyone who supported the team, baked or gave to the coffee morning and to anyone who donated, without you this would not have been possible!”

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland provides an essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), delivering urgent pre-hospital care across both rural and urban communities. The charity requires continuous fundraising to operate, with each mission costing around £5,500.

The pharmacy’s efforts highlight the importance of community fundraising in keeping the service running.
