Gary Stewart of Tartine at Distillers Arms and Stella Bolton of The French Rooms toast the success of their upcoming Bushmills Banquet set up take place tomorrow evening, Friday 19 November.

After what has been an incredibly challenging time for the hospitality industry, the Bushmills Banquet team grasped the opportunity to plan an event to celebrate the launch of Slow Food Causeway by Taste Causeway.

With funding from Tourism NI in partnership with CCAG Borough Council, the demand for tickets demonstrates the appetite for events such as the Bushmills Banquet, and it is no surprise that it was an instant sell-out!

Gary Stewart has described the event as the encapsulation of the Embrace the Giant Spirit brand.

“It has ignited the enthusiasm and passion amongst producers and chefs to come together, to deliver a sensational experience.

“Under the iconic and atmospheric roof of the Giants Causeway Visitor Centre, we are looking forward to celebrating the remarkable achievement of Taste Causeway, of which I am a founding member and have recently also become a producer with our Distillers pickle sauce.

“Becoming the first Region in Northern Ireland, and the Island of Ireland to be accredited with this auspicious accreditation following a rigorous assessment process deserves a fitting celebration.”

Stella Bolton of The French Rooms Bushmills has been a member of the Slow Food Movement for several years and proudly won NI Slow Food Best restaurant in 2019.

She shares Gary's excitement for the upcoming banquet.

“The spirit of the funding is to help small businesses who have suffered due to Covid, and we have managed to include 40 plus small local businesses in the organisation of this event. “Our banquet menu includes produce from 24 Taste Causeway members. We are immensely proud of the achievements of Taste Causeway and understand the challenges the pandemic brought. However, we are also celebrating survival.

“Strategically, the launch of Slow Food Causeway marries Taste Causeway producers, hospitality, and experience providers to share values. Building on what has been achieved gives us a unique opportunity to shape how to produce, purchase, cook and serve food for a sustainable future.” Bushmills Banquet is an event managed by The Bushmills Business Association.
