Antrim and Newtownabbey to sparkle with seven Christmas Light Switch On events

Residents across Antrim and Newtownabbey are being invited to celebrate the start of the festive season at one of seven magical Christmas Light Switch On events taking place throughout the Borough from 20–29 November 2025.
Each event promises festive entertainment, family fun, and a dazzling light display, creating an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors alike.
The celebrations will kick off in Crumlin on Thursday 20 November at the Crumlin Leisure Centre from 6pm–7.30pm, followed by Randalstown on Friday 21 November at John Street Car Park. The festive spirit continues in Antrim on Saturday 22 November at Railway Street Car Park, 4.30pm–6pm.
The excitement then moves to Jordanstown and Monkstown on Wednesday 26 November at Jordanstown Road/Devenish Drive, before lighting up Glengormley on Thursday 27 November at Lilian Bland Park.
Newtownabbey’s big switch-on will take place at V36 (Valley Leisure Centre) on Friday 28 November, followed by the final event in Ballyclare on Saturday 29 November at The Square Car Park, both running from 6pm–7.30pm (Ballyclare from 4.30pm–6pm).
Families can look forward to live performances, festive activities, and the magical moment when Santa and the winner of Santa’s Controller Quest light up the Borough together.

With twinkling lights, joyful music, and plenty of festive cheer, the Council’s Christmas Light Switch On programme promises to bring the magic of the season to every corner of the Borough.
