ANBCouncil to host new SuperCupNI Girls Tournament at venues across the Borough

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Alderman Stephen Ross, Victor Leonard, chairman of the organising committee of SuperCupNI, Amie McNiece, Marketing Director at Fibrus and young players at the launch event in Mossely Mill.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is delighted to be hosting the first SuperCupNI Girls Tournament at venues across the Borough.

This is an exciting new addition to the renowned STATSports SuperCupNI, sponsored by Fibrus, which kicks-off from Sunday 24 – Friday 29 July.

ANBCouncil is looking forward to welcoming six teams of aspiring young female international footballers to Allen Park Antrim, Dixon Park Ballyclare and Mossley Park - some of them having travelled from as far afield as the USA and Canada.

It comes hot on the heels of the Council’s support for the Northern Ireland Women’s team, with supporters of all ages gathering at fanzones in Antrim Castle Gardens and Mossley Mill to cheer on the Green and White Army earlier this month.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Alderman Stephen Ross said:

“We are proud to be one of the three Council’s sponsoring the SuperCupNI, one of the biggest and best international youth tournaments anywhere in the world.

“The Girls Tournament is an exciting new addition to SuperCupNI and we are thrilled to be hosting it, especially on the back of the Council’s recent support for the Northern Ireland Women’s team in Euro 2022.

“We look forward to welcoming the players, families and fans from across the world to this fantastic event.”
