Families across the borough are being invited to Antrim Castle Gardens later this month as the Mayor’s Party in the Parterre returns with an afternoon packed full of entertainment, activities and fundraising for local charities.

The community event will take place on Saturday 30 May from 1pm to 4pm in the scenic surroundings of the gardens, offering a wide range of family-friendly attractions including face painting, inflatables, arts and crafts, music and games.

Organised in support of the Mayor’s Charities, the event aims to bring local people together for a relaxed afternoon while raising money for organisations supporting people across the community.

Family afternoon planned in support of local charities

Admission to the event is free, although a £1.50 booking fee will apply, with proceeds going directly to the Mayor’s chosen charities for the year, with tickets available by tapping the button below.

The charities benefiting from the event are ASD Teens, the British Deaf Association Northern Ireland, and Macmillan Cancer Unit Antrim.

The fundraising afternoon comes as the current Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick, prepares to conclude her term in office.

Speaking ahead of the event, Councillor Kirkpatrick encouraged families to come along and support the causes while enjoying the atmosphere at one of the borough’s best-known public spaces.

She said:

“As my term in office comes to a close, I’d love you all to join me for my Party in the Parterre.

“It’s a wonderful chance for families to come together, enjoy a fun filled afternoon, and support some truly important charities that support our local community.”
