Air Ambulance NI offer virtual talks to engage with local community

Every single day, the pilots, HEMS doctors and paramedics of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland are on duty to respond to serious medical emergencies all over Northern Ireland.

The life-saving service is tasked on average twice a day and since its inception in 2017, it has been called out over 2,054 times. Behind each of these call outs is an individual, a family and a community that are impacted by a serious and unexpected incident.

The local charity has always embraced the opportunity to engage with families, communities and businesses to help spread awareness, spark informative conversations and promote support for the service which relies on donations from the public.

The current health pandemic has cut back on the charities ability to attend public talks in person, but it doesn’t mean the opportunities for education and conversation have ended. In fact, Air Ambulance NI are currently offering online webinars to speak with community groups, local businesses, sports clubs and organisations.

These online sessions, offer the public an opportunity to engage with the charity, learn about major trauma injuries, the types of procedures the crew can perform at the scene of an incident and current ways to support and ensure the service remains operational. If your workplace, community group or sports team would like to book a digital talk with Air Ambulance NI, please contact:

The charity Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for Northern Ireland.

The service brings urgent medical assistance to anywhere in the province, operating seven days a week for 12 hours per day. It can get to anywhere in Northern Ireland in approximately twenty-five minutes.

The HEMS team attend patients who are seriously ill or injured, bringing emergency pre-hospital care direct to the casualty with the aim of saving lives, brains and limbs. We cherish connecting with former patients and patient families.

If you, or one of your family members, have been treated by the HEMS Crew please get in touch by calling 028 9262 2677 we’d love to hear from you.

Air Ambulance NI needs to raise £2million each year to maintain this service so public donations are crucial. Fundraising has been severely impacted by Covid19. If you would like to donate, organise an event or could spare some time volunteering, please contact Air Ambulance NI by:
