Multiple NIFRS crews battled throughout the night to bring Ballymoney blaze under control

Multiple crews from Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) battled throughout the night to bring the huge blaze under control at a commercial premises in Ballymoney.


Emergency Services rushed to the scene when the alarm was raised on after 4pm on Monday afternoon (22 November) at the former Fleming Poultry Factory on the Ballymena Road in the town.


As the fire spread on Monday evening, NIFRS declared a Major Incident.


At the peak of the incident over 100 firefighters, including 9 Officers, 15 pumping appliances and 10 specialist appliances were on scene dealing with the blaze.

This morning (Tuesday 23 November) a number of crews remain at the site. NIFRS are asking local residents to remain in their homes and to keep doors and windows closed.
