Police in Mid and East Antrim have seized an estimated £65,000 worth of drugs, cash and prohibited weapons following two separate operations in the Ahoghill and Randalstown areas.
The District Support Team carried out the first arrest and search operation on Wednesday, 29 October, in Ahoghill.
During the search, officers recovered suspected Class A and Class B drugs, along with several prohibited weapons. Police estimate the total value of the drugs to be in excess of £30,000.
A male suspect was arrested and has since been released on bail to allow for further enquiries.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said officers across the district “are committed to removing drugs and weapons from our communities.”
They added: “If you have any information you would like to pass to police please contact 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers completely anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
In a second operation, conducted on the same day, between the Randalstown and Ahoghill area, District Support Team officers seized suspected Class B drugs and a large amount of cash.
Police estimate the combined value of drugs and cash recovered to be approximately £35,000. One male was arrested and later bailed pending further enquiries.
Reaffirming their commitment to tackling organised crime, a police spokesperson said:
“Officers across the district are committed to removing drugs from our communities and preventing criminals from profiting from illegal activity.”
Anyone with information about drug activity or related criminality is urged to contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
