Police called to local primary school after child was found with knife


Police were called to a local primary school (Thursday 4 November) after it was discovered that a child had brought a knife (pictured above) with them into the classroom.


Police in Ballymena said the consequences of children having such knives were ‘extremely concerning’.


A police spokesperson commented on Thursday evening:


“Earlier today Ballymena Neighbourhood Officers were called to a local primary school regarding a pupil having a knife in school.


“Parents and appropriate adults, please can you take the time to check your children's bags and coats in the mornings.


“The consequences of our children possessing knives at school or at any time is extremely concerning.”
