Woman remains in serious condition after Dunloy crash as arrested man released on bail

A woman remains in a serious condition in hospital following a major two-vehicle collision in Dunloy at the weekend, as police confirmed a man arrested after the crash has now been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The collision happened on Bridge Road at around 7:10pm on Saturday, 16 May, and involved a grey Audi A3 and a silver Skoda Octavia.
Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of the crash, with the road closed for several hours while police carried out investigations.
Man in his 20s released on bail
Police initially confirmed that a man aged in his 20s had been arrested at the scene on suspicion of a number of driving offences.
In an update issued on Monday morning, 18 May, officers said the man has since been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries to be conducted.
The female casualty, who was taken to hospital following the collision, remains in a serious condition.
The incident has again highlighted the devastating consequences serious road traffic collisions can have for families and communities across Northern Ireland.
Police continue appeal for witnesses and footage
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision and are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward.
Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone with mobile phone footage, dash cam recordings, or any information which may assist enquiries.
