Charlie Ward is a year 10 pupil at St Patrick's College, Ballymena.
During lockdown many people took up new hobbies to fill their time. For Charlie, 10 Foyle, after watching a performance of Fantaisie-Impromptu, Op. 66, composed by Chopin, he decided that he wanted to play it too!
You might think that Charlie has been playing the piano since he was a toddler, but in fact Charlie only began playing recently and is completely self-taught.
Charlie told his music teacher, Mr Boylan, that he watches tutorial videos online, works out the left hand first, then the right hand before putting them together.
We have a feeling that this isn’t going to be the last time that we hear the name Charlie Ward.
Amazing, Charlie! Well done. ♥️
