Two men remanded in custody after Ballymena petrol bomb attack


Two men appeared before Coleraine Magistrates Court by videolink from Antrim police station this morning.

Norbert Slawomir Zielinksi and Lucasz Gerard Rybski, both from the Market Road area of Ballymena, were charged with arson endangering life with intent and causing criminal damage at a house in Fisherwick Gardens area of Ballymena on the 15th November.


Police were in the Fisherwick Gardens area, shortly before 5am, when they became aware that a petrol bomb had been thrown inside a property. Three male occupants inside the property at the time.


Both men along with an interpreter appeared before the court. A police officer said he believed he could connect the defendants to the charges. District Judge Peter King said that that this case was a much serious nature and remanded both men in custody to re-appear in Ballymena Magistrates Court on December 10th.

The defence barrister was Neil Moore.
