Two men in critical condition after serious Co Antrim motorbike crash

Two men are in hospital in a critical but stable condition after a serious single-vehicle collision involving a motorbike in Lisburn on Saturday afternoon.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following the crash on Pond Park Road East, which happened at around 4.25pm on Saturday 4 April.

The incident involved a motorbike which is understood to have collided with a crash barrier, leaving both riders with serious injuries.

Local policing Inspector Henderson said officers received a report of the collision shortly after it happened.

He said:

“We received a report that a motorbike had collided with a crash barrier at around 4.25pm. The two men on-board, aged in their 30s, had sustained serious injury.”

Emergency services attended the scene, and both men were taken to hospital for treatment.

An update issued by police confirmed their condition remains serious.

Inspector Henderson added:

“Both men remain in hospital at this time, in a critical but stable condition.”

Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage

PSNI are now urging anyone who may have seen the collision, or who observed the manner of driving in the moments leading up to it, to come forward as enquiries continue.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from motorists who may have been travelling in the area and have dashcam footage that could assist investigators in establishing exactly what happened.

Inspector Henderson said:

“We would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the manner of driving leading up to it, to contact us. We would be particularly keen to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam footage.”
