Flybe routes from Belfast City Airport have been published tonight on the airline’s website, and it is good news for travellers as competition should hopefully translate into lower airfares.

Having announced Birmingham as the home of its new headquarters and first crew base in November, Flybe last week announced it will also be adding Belfast City Airport to its network—as its second main base of operations with plans to rapidly grow, create more jobs, and add more flights as the summer progresses.

The arrival of Flybe will bring a welcome boost to Belfast City Airport with 12 routes, some flying four times daily, including:

• Aberdeen - from 25 August (x3 weekly)

• Amsterdam - 28 April (x3 daily)

• Birmingham - from 13 April (x4 daily)

• East Midlands - from 7 July (x2 daily)

• Edinburgh - from 23 June (x3 daily)

• Glasgow - from 14 April (x4 daily)

• Inverness - from 25 August (x4 weekly)

• Leeds Bradford - from 28 April (x3 daily)

• London Heathrow - from 28 April (x2 daily)

• Manchester - from 7 July (x4 daily)

• Newcastle - from 25 August (daily)

• Southampton - from 28 July (x4 daily)

Flybe CEO, Dave Pflieger, said:

“Once we start flying from Birmingham, Belfast, and many other cities in the UK and EU, we are confident that a new and improved Flybe will provide customers with great value, more choices, and the opportunity to quickly and more conveniently visit loved ones, go on holiday, and more easily visit customers or attend important meetings.

“Given that goal, Flybe hopes to do its part to help communities across the country bounce back from the dramatic impact of the global pandemic.”
