STAFF RECOMMENDATION…

ree

This weeks staff recommendation is Fields of Wonder by Evan Marshall. This is the incredible story of Northern Ireland's journey to the 1982 World Cup.

The book is based on interviews with manager Billy Bingham and many of the players including Pat Jennings and Norman Whiteside. This book vividly captures the struggles, spirit and magic of Northern Ireland's 1982 World Cup campaign.

Evan previously worked in the Belfast and Lisburn branches of Waterstones and we feel sure that this book will be a huge hit with our customers. Evan's previous book Spirit of '58 is also available in store and is another great book about Northern Ireland football.

Join us every Saturday at 12 noon for Saturday Storytime.

This week we will be reading a classic - Aliens Love Underpants by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort. I love this book and I'm sure you will too!

YOUNG READERS CLUB…

ree

The next meeting of our children's book club is Friday 27th May at 4pm.

The book we have chosen for this month is Noah's Gold by Frank Cottrell-Boyce. This is a story all about a group of children who are stranded on an uninhabited island with a mysterious treasure map.

A story of how being the smallest doesn't stop you having the biggest ideas. There is still time to get your copy and come along.

Kerry is looking forward to discussing the book with everyone!

This book club is suitable for ages 8-13.
