Half Price…
• Precipice by Robert Harris
A masterclass in page-turning historical fiction from the bestselling author of Fatherland and Act of Oblivion, Precipice imagines the British Prime Minister on the verge of leading the nation into war and the secret love affair which could have world-changing implications.
• The Land of Lost Things by Andy Griffiths
Bursting with the same madcap energy and surreal humour as Griffiths' Treehouse series, The Land of Lost Things is the first in a stupendously silly series vibrantly illustrated by Bill Hope.
• Astrochimp by David Walliams
David Walliams' side-splitting debut comic book alongside illustrator Adam Stower tells the zany story of Chump the Chimp, chosen by NASA for a very important space mission.
Out Now…
• On Leadership by Tony Blair
The former Labour leader and Prime Minister delivers the manual for good governance he wished he'd had upon winning his first general election, in this pithy and insightful treatise on political leadership.
• The Masquerades of Spring by Ben Aaronovitch
The bestselling author of the Rivers of London series spins a mesmeric tale involving an Englishman in jazz-age New York, the rather quirky case of an old saxophone, and musical magic and mayhem in the downtown shadows.
• The Examiner by Janice Hallett
Spinning another intricate mystery where a close reading of all the evidence is essential, Hallett's delightful page-turner finds the author of The Appeal on top form as an art student winds up dead and suspicion falls on their dysfunctional classmates.
Saturday Storytime…
Our next Saturday Storytime will take place on Saturday 14th September at 12pm. We will be reading Monster Post by Emma Yarlett.
This is a hilarious novelty book about a quick-thinking child and a soft-hearted beast, with funny letters and comically disgusting recipes to open.
We look forward to seeing everyone there. There will be colouring in afterwards!
