Three arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after serious assault in north Belfast

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was seriously assaulted inside a house in north Belfast on Monday evening.

Police were called to a residential property in the Duncairn Parade area shortly before 6pm following reports that a man had been assaulted.

Three men arrested

The three suspects — one aged in his 30s and two aged in their 40s — were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

All three remain in police custody while detectives continue their enquiries.

The condition of the injured man has not yet been disclosed.

Inspector Holmes said:

“Shortly before six pm today, Monday 20th July, police received a report that a man had been assaulted inside a residential property.

“Three men, one aged in his 30s, and two aged in their 40s, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in police custody, assisting with enquiries.”

Police appeal for information

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward.

Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact police using the PSNI witness appeal form, quoting reference 1454 of 20/07/26, or call 101.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police say a further update will be issued as the investigation progresses.
