Three people have been arrested after police uncovered a significant quantity of suspected drugs, firearms, ammunition, cash and counterfeit goods during a major operation in the Dungannon area.

The searches, carried out on Friday, 19 June, involved officers from the PSNI’s Mid Ulster District Support Team, assisted by the Torrent Neighbourhood Policing Team, Dungannon Local Policing Team and the Armed Support Unit.

Police say the operation resulted in the seizure of suspected Class A, B and C drugs, alongside a range of other items linked to alleged criminal activity.

During the searches, officers also located suspected firearms and ammunition, a sum of cash, tobacco products, counterfeit goods and suspected criminal property.

Police have confirmed that enquiries remain ongoing in relation to all items seized.

The discovery of both suspected drugs and firearms has prompted a wide-ranging investigation as officers work to establish the full extent of any criminal activity connected to the property.

Three suspects remain in custody

A teenage male, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s were arrested during the operation.

The trio were detained on suspicion of a number of offences including:

• Possession of Class A, B and D drugs

• Possession of Class A, B and C drugs with intent to supply

• Possession of criminal property

• Possession of a firearm

• Possession of ammunition

Police said all three remain in custody and are assisting officers with their enquiries.

Warning to those involved in drug dealing

Sergeant Delaney said the operation demonstrated the PSNI’s continued commitment to tackling drug-related crime across local communities.

He said:

“Anyone tempted to become involved in illegal drugs should be under no illusion; we will seek to identify them, arrest them and place them before the courts.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone with any information about suspected drug dealing in their area to call the non-emergency number 101.”

Appeal for information
