Police have confirmed that a man in his 30s who was critically injured in a Co Antrim road collision has sadly died.

The man has been named locally as Ralph Singco, the husband of the pregnant woman who was killed in the same tragic crash.

Mr Singco was critically injured in the two-car collision on the Moira Road near Nutts Corner in Crumlin on Sunday afternoon, 11 January, and has now sadly died from his injuries.

The collision had already claimed the life of his wife, Cathrene Kith Quiñones Singco, who was pregnant at the time. Police previously confirmed that Cathrene died in hospital as a result of the crash and that her unborn baby also died.

With the death of Mr Singco, three lives have now been lost as a result of the same incident.

The collision occurred at around 2pm and involved a blue Ford Fiesta and a silver Skoda Superb. Both Ralph and Cathrene Singco were passengers in one of the vehicles.

A number of other people involved in the collision sustained minor injuries.

Emergency services, including the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene, with the road closed for a time as specialist officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit carried out forensic examinations.

Police say investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision remain ongoing and have renewed their appeal for information from the public.

Detective Inspector Stewart, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“We are investigating what happened and require the public’s assistance with our enquiries. Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have any dash-cam footage of the road at the time which could assist with our investigation, please contact us in the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 735 11/01/26.”

The deaths of Ralph and Cathrene Singco and their unborn child have deeply affected the local community, with the tragedy highlighting the devastating human cost of serious road traffic collisions.

Police are urging anyone who was travelling on the Moira Road around the time of the crash to come forward, even if they believe their information may be insignificant.
