Teen charged following alleged sexual assault in Ballymoney




Detectives investigating a report of sexual assault in the Ballymoney area on Thursday August 4th, have charged an 18-year-old man with sexual activity by an adult with a child between 13 and 16-years-old.


He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday August 8th.



As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).


Detective Chief Inspector Kerry Brennan said:


"We would like to thank the public for their assistance to date and to those who have got touch, we continue to appeal to anyone with any information that could assist us with our investigation, in particular anyone in the area with CCTV or any drivers with dash cam footage, who were in the area of Raceview / Myrtle Park / Cherry Gardens in the Ballymoney area, if they have privately held CCTV at their properties that covers public areas adjacentto their properties to get in touch, to contact us on 101 quoting reference 2034 05/08/22.
