Seasonal campaign returns at local stores bringing timely savings for thousands of shoppers

Thousands of shoppers at SPAR, EUROSPAR, ViVO, ViVOXTRA and ViVO Essentials stores across Northern Ireland will get more value in their baskets for the next 12 weeks, as the retailer’s popular 12 Deals of Christmas returns.


Just 2% of the NI population hasn’t heard of the campaign, so shoppers can expect to be wowed with incredible savings on big ticket items, starting with 12 packs of 330ml Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Fanta and Fanta Zero this week, less than half price at £3.25 and next week, there’s over a third off Ballyrashane Butter, which will be down to £3.


12 Deals of Christmas will run in every SPAR, EUROSPAR and ViVO branded store in Northern Ireland until 18 December with a new deal every week, including one special double deal, where two high demand items will go on sale at extra value for seven days.


While the campaign that runs alongside the deals takes a tongue in cheek look at just how easily we can be tempted by a bargain, there is also a serious side to the initiative which Henderson Group, the business behind the brands, has invested so greatly in.


Sara Murphy, Marketing Manager at Henderson Group commented:

“This is the seventh year of the 12 Deals of Christmas campaign, and it is something our shoppers tell us they look forward to all year.


“It takes on a significant meaning this year as millions of households across Northern Ireland are feeling the effects of rising costs. At the beginning of the year, we launched Mega Deals which brings a vastly cut-price deal to the shelves every week, and 12 Deals will run alongside those discounts, providing even more value in our stores.


“We have invested around £1.7M in this campaign to drive down those costs and get the message out there that our local stores are there for our local communities. It is more important now than ever.”


And if feedback from last year is anything to go by, shoppers can’t wait for the campaign to return. In an online shopper survey conducted by SPAR NI, over 80% of respondents said the 12 Deals of Christmas offers were better than supermarket prices, and 71% said the campaign would make them want to shop at SPAR, EUROSPAR and ViVO branded stores more often.


With 12 weeks of market leading deals, on big brand, household staples from butter to laundry pods… who can blame them?
