Detectives, investigating a report of a hijacking in the Shore Road area of north Belfast in November 2023, conducted searches in the Ballymena, Kilrea, Dunloy and Maghera areas on Wednesday, March 27.
A large number of police vehicles were witnessed outside a block of apartments at the Chapel Roundabout, Broughshane Road in Ballymena on Wednesday morning.
A police spokesperson said:
"One man, aged in his 60s, was arrested on suspicion of offences including hijacking and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
"He remains in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries.
"A number of items were seized and taken away for further examination."
