Ryanair has announced it will add more than 4,900 extra seats to and from Belfast for Christmas week 2025, as the carrier prepares for a surge in festive travel demand.

The airline – Europe’s largest by passenger numbers – confirmed on Tuesday (25 November) that it expects to carry over 26,000 passengers through Belfast Airport during the busy holiday period, helping people return home in time to celebrate with their families.

The additional seats have been introduced in response to what the airline described as “strong travel demand” for Christmas 2025, with flights already selling quickly.

Ryanair’s full Winter 2025 schedule, including the newly added Christmas services, is now available to book via its website.

In a festive push, the airline is also promoting its Ryanair Gift Cards, starting from €25, available in both digital and physical formats. The physical card option can include a personalised message and delivery direct to the recipient’s door.

Ryanair’s Director of Communications, Jade Kirwan, urged travellers to lock in their flights early to secure the best availability during the peak period.

“The countdown to Christmas is on and flights are booking up fast! To support the strong Christmas travel demand and ensure passengers can get home to spend Christmas with family and friends, we’ve added over 4,900 extra seats to/from Belfast for Christmas week.

“We encourage anyone intending to travel this Christmas to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.”
