A series of Remembrance services and parades will be held across Mid and East Antrim this weekend to honour those who gave their lives in conflict.
Residents across the Borough will come together on Remembrance Sunday (9 November 2025) to commemorate the sacrifices made by service personnel during World War One, World War Two, and other conflicts.
Ceremonies will take place at War Memorials in Ballymena, Carrickfergus, and Larne, with further commemorations planned in Ballycarry, Broughshane, Cullybackey, Glynn, Kells and Connor, and Whitehead.
The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Jackson Minford, and Interim Chief Executive, Valerie Watts, will be among those attending the Ballymena service, where they will lay a wreath on behalf of the Council, while Deputy Mayor, Councillor Tyler Hoey, will lay a wreath in Larne.
In Ballycarry, a separate commemoration will be held earlier on Friday 7 November at 7pm, where Deputy Mayor Councillor Tyler Hoey will lay a wreath at the village War Memorial.
A spokesperson for Mid and East Antrim Borough Council said the annual services provided an important opportunity for communities to come together in remembrance.
“Remembrance Sunday is a time to reflect, to honour those who served, and to ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten. The Council is proud to support commemorations across our Borough.”
