Police have arrested a man in connection with a breach of court bail conditions after he was found carrying alcohol on a train service between Belfast and Coleraine on Tuesday, 14 October.
Officers from the Safe Transport Team were conducting patrols when they observed the man boarding the train at Ballymena Train Station carrying two large bottles of alcohol.
A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said:
“Officers spoke to the male on board and ascertained he was a prolific offender from the area who was on Court Bail not to be under the influence or in possession of alcohol in a public place.”

The man was escorted from the train at Antrim Train Station, where he was arrested. Police confirmed he was taken into custody and would remain overnight before appearing in court the following morning.
The Safe Transport Team regularly carries out patrols on Northern Ireland’s rail network to promote passenger safety and deter antisocial or criminal behaviour.
“Our officers work closely with Translink staff and local police to ensure public transport remains a safe and welcoming environment for all passengers,” the spokesperson added.
