Police name 42-year-old man killed in Lisburn as murder probe continues

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have named the man who died following a serious assault in Lisburn.
He was 42-year-old Barry Furfey, who was found with serious injuries at a property in the Wardsborough Road area of the city in the early hours of Monday 15th September. He later died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
Detective Inspector Jill Angus said:
“My thoughts are with Barry’s family, who are left to try to come to terms with their devastating loss.”
She confirmed that two people – a 37-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman – remain in custody on suspicion of murder. They were arrested on Monday 15th September and continue to assist detectives with their enquiries.
“Our enquiries are continuing, and I am keen to take the opportunity to reiterate my appeal to anyone with information to contact detectives on 101. Please quote reference number 29 of 15/09/25,” DI Angus added.
