Police confirm body of Lee Johnston found in Maghera

The Police Service has confirmed that a body discovered in Maghera on Wednesday night, 18th August, is that of Lee Johnston.


Police were joined by Community Rescue Service volunteers in the search for the high-risk 21-year-old man who had been missing since 7th October.


Following the discovery of a post mortem examination was conducted.



Superintendent Michael O’Loan, District Commander for Mid Ulster, said:


“Police can confirm that this is the body of the high risk missing person Lee Johnston. His death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.


“Our thoughts today are very much with Lee’s family and friends as they mourn his loss.”
