Police appeal after serious collision on Glenshane Road, Castledawson

Police are appealing for information following a serious two-vehicle collision on the Glenshane Road in Castledawson on Tuesday morning.
The incident, which occurred shortly before 6:45am on 26 August, involved a blue Volvo car and a black Volkswagen Passat.
Sergeant Hamilton confirmed:
“One man in his 20s was taken to hospital for his injuries, which are described as serious. Four other males were taken to hospital for their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.”
The Glenshane Road was closed for several hours while emergency services attended the scene, but has since reopened.
Police are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or captured dash-cam footage to come forward.
Sergeant Hamilton added:
“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with any information or dash-cam footage in relation to the collision, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 161 26/08/25.”
