Plans revealed for apartments on site of 126-year-old church

An outline planning application has been made for a new apartment complex on the site of a 126-year-old church in Ballymena.

Trustees of Ballymena Congregational Church, based at 1 Kinhilt Street in the town, made the application in recent weeks.

Plans appear to include the demolition of the church building, in order to make way for ten two-bedroom apartments.

The Ballymena Congregational Church was formed in 1882, before the building constructed and opened in 1896.

At time of publishing, one local resident has made an objection to the plans.
