Treasure hunts, pirates and mermaids brought Galgorm colleagues and their families together for a day of activities recognising the contribution of the hospitality group’s workforce.

Team members, partners and children from across Galgorm Collection gathered at Galgorm Resort’s Great Hall on Sunday 13 September for the complimentary Pirates and Mermaids Family Fun Day.

Activities included digging for buried treasure, bouncy castles and face painting, alongside a barbecue, sweet treats and opportunities to meet pirate and mermaid characters.

The event was organised to thank staff across the Collection, which says it employs more than 1,400 people, and gave families an opportunity to spend time with colleagues away from their working routines.

Laura Millar, People & Development Associate Director, said:

“Our Family Fun Day was a wonderful opportunity to bring colleagues and their families together and thank them for the support they provide throughout the year. After an exceptionally busy summer across the Collection, it was important for us to take time to recognise and celebrate the people who make our business such a special place to work.”

She also highlighted the family connections within the workforce, with relatives working across the group’s hotels, restaurants and experiences.

Connections across the Collection

Ms Millar said:

“As one of Northern Ireland’s largest hospitality employers, we are proud to have many families connected to our business, with relatives often working alongside one another across our hotels, restaurants and experiences.

“Creating opportunities for colleagues and their loved ones to come together helps strengthen those connections and reflects the family culture that is so important to us.”

Galgorm Collection includes Galgorm Resort, The Old Inn in Crawfordsburn, The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat in Templepatrick, Roe Valley Resort in Limavady, Fratelli Belfast and Parisien.

For colleagues and their children, Sunday’s gathering offered a chance to share in that wider workplace community — with treasure hunts and family activities taking centre stage after the busy summer season.
