Dog rescued after cliff fall in Ballycastle

The teams from Ballycastle and Coleraine Coastguard were tasked today (Saturday 22 January) after a dog fell from cliffs in Ballycastle, County Antrim.

A spokesperson for the teams said:

“Ballycastle and Coleraine Coastguard Rescue Teams were called out to rescue Pippa the dog who had fallen from cliffs behind the caravan site at Claire Road, Ballycastle.

“A rope rescue operation was carried out and Pippa was recovered to the top of the cliff, thankfully with just minor injuries.

“We would like to urge all dog owners to keep their pets on a lead when walking near cliff edges. If your dog has fallen, do not attempt to rescue it yourself but dial 999 COASTGUARD.”
