World War II Veteran Nathanial Thompson will today celebrate his 100th birthday.
In normal circumstances, Mayor Councillor, Peter Johnston would have welcomed the opportunity to visit Nathanial in Rylands Nursing Home, Kells however, with the current restrictions in place, Cllr Johnston has recorded a special message for the Silver Poppy recipient.
Cllr Johnston said; “Firstly I would like to wish Nathanial a very Happy Birthday.
“I would have taken great pleasure in coming to visit you in person but with the current restrictions in place that is not possible. Therefore, to mark the occasion I have recorded a very special video message for you.
“I hope you have a wonderful day and I wish you nothing but good health and happiness as you enter into your 101st year.”
Flowers and a card from the Mayor of Mid and East Antrim will also be delivered to Mr Thompson as he celebrates such a special occasion.
