26-year-old Jamie Fleming


A 26-year-old motorcyclist who died following a road traffic collision in Doagh on Friday afternoon has been named by police as Jamie Fleming, from the Ballyclare area.


The collision happened shortly before 1.40pm on Friday, 17 July, at the junction of Ballymena Road and Deer Park Road, involving a blue Yamaha motorcycle and a blue Skoda Enyaq.



Emergency services, including officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, attended the scene, but Mr Fleming was pronounced dead.


Police investigation continues


Detective Inspector Stewart, from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit, said:


“Police received a report at around 1.40pm of a collision involving a blue Yamaha motorcycle and a blue Skoda Enyaq in the Ballymena Road area of Doagh at the junction of Deer Park Road.


“Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended, however, sadly the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.



“The Ballymena Road, which was closed for a time, has since reopened.


“Our enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have any information which could assist with our investigation, including dash-cam or other footage, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 827 of 17/07/26.”


The road was closed while collision investigators examined the scene but has since reopened.



Appeal for witnesses


Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are asking anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has dash-cam or other footage from the area around the time of the incident, to come forward.


Information can be provided by calling police on 101, quoting reference 827 of 17/07/26. Reports can also be submitted via the PSNI’s online non-emergency reporting service, while information can be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers.


As the investigation continues, officers hope information from witnesses or motorists travelling through the area will help establish exactly what happened in the moments leading up to the fatal collision.
