Man seriously injured at building site in Co Antrim

A man was transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, after sustaining serious injuries at a building site in Larne, in what appears to be a workplace accident.

Northern Ireland Ambulance Service along with colleagues from NI Air Ambulance rushed to the scene of the incident on Thursday morning (12 May) at the new housing development, Blackthorn Hollow, off the Killyglen Road.



A spokesperson for NIAS commented:


“The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 08:38 on Thursday 12 May, following reports of an incident on a building site in Larne.


“NIAS despatched an Emergency Crew to the scene and also tasked the Charity Air Ambulance, with HEMS crew on board, to the incident.



“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was transferred, by air ambulance, to RVH in Belfast.”
