Man rescued from river in County Antrim

Police have said an incident in which a man was rescued from a river in County Antrim was reported as a "concern for safety".


Emergency Services scrambled to the scene of the incident on the Inver River, after the alarm was raised with HM Coastguard at around 9:40pm on Wednesday evening, 3rd January.



Coastguard Rescue Teams from Larne and Portmuck were tasked to the scene of the incident at Circular Road in Larne. The teams were joined by colleagues from PSNI, NI Fire and Rescue Service, and the NI Ambulance Service.


With the assistance of Firefighters, Coastguard Rescue Officers recovered the man from the water before he was passed into the care of the Ambulance Service.

 



The man's condition is unknown at this time. The incident was dealt with by 11:18pm.
