Detectives have charged a 66-year-old man with the murder of 64-year-old Alyson Nelson, who was discovered stabbed at a property in the Whitehead area of County Antrim.
Police received a report at around 6.10pm on Saturday 16 April, that a woman had been stabbed at a property on Victoria Avenue, Whitehead.
Officers attended, along with emergency service colleagues. Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man charged with Ms Nelson’s murder is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Wednesday 20 April). As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
