A Lidl employee based at the company’s Nutts Corner Regional Distribution Centre has been recognised as one of the top performers across the island of Ireland, after securing a major national award celebrating inclusion and workplace culture.

Mark McGuire, a Supply Chain Analyst, was named one of just six top award winners at Lidl’s 2026 National Achievement Awards, standing out among more than 6,000 colleagues across the business.

Top honour for inclusion and belonging

Mark received the Lidl Impact Award for Inclusion & Belonging — one of the most prestigious accolades presented on the night — in recognition of his contribution to fostering a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture.

The award recognises colleagues who make a profound and lasting impact on how inclusion is understood and experienced within the organisation.

During the ceremony, Mark was commended for his deeply personal “No Big Deal” article, shared on the company’s internal platform, which challenged traditional perceptions of inclusion and shifted the focus towards everyday human interactions.

His writing reframed inclusion as something built through “quiet, ordinary moments”, offering colleagues a grounded and relatable understanding of belonging and ally-ship beyond corporate messaging and symbolic gestures.

Personal story drives wider understanding

Reflecting on his award, Mark said:

“I wanted to show that true belonging isn’t just about corporate initiatives; it’s about the ordinary moments we share every day. Sharing my story was a big step out of my comfort zone but seeing how it helped others understand authentic allyship has been the greatest reward.”

His contribution was recognised for helping to humanise the LGBTQ+ experience within the workplace and for encouraging colleagues to engage more meaningfully with inclusion in their day-to-day interactions.

National awards celebrate standout colleagues

The awards ceremony took place earlier this week at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road in Dublin, bringing together employees from across Lidl’s operations to celebrate exceptional performance and commitment.

A total of 25 awards were presented during the event, recognising individuals who demonstrate strong dedication, passion, and alignment with the company’s values.

The ceremony was hosted by Q Radio presenter and comedian Andrew Ryan and highlighted colleagues whose contributions stand out across Lidl’s network of stores, distribution centres, and head office functions.

Workforce scale and continued recognition

Lidl employs more than 6,000 people across the island of Ireland, operating 235 stores, four regional distribution centres, and its head office in Tallaght.

The retailer has also been recognised as a ‘Top Employer’ by the Top Employers Institute for the sixth consecutive year, reflecting its continued focus on workplace standards and employee development.

Mark’s recognition places him among the highest-performing employees across Lidl’s Irish operations, highlighting the impact of individual contributions in shaping company culture at scale.
