Kourtney Khloe McCormick named as six-year-old girl who tragically died after Newry collision

The six-year-old girl who sadly died following a tragic road traffic collision in Newry has been named by police as Kourtney Khloe McCormick.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed Kourtney’s identity on Monday as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident in the Springfarm Heights area of the city.
Kourtney had recently celebrated her sixth birthday before the collision, which occurred on the evening of Sunday, 21 June.
The young girl sustained fatal injuries after a collision involving a black Ford Tourneo van. She was taken to hospital following the incident but sadly later died.
Investigation remains ongoing
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for information from the public.
The tragedy has deeply saddened the local community, with officers continuing their enquiries to establish exactly what happened.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured dash-cam, CCTV or other footage that could assist investigators, is urged to come forward.

As investigations continue, police remain focused on piecing together the events leading up to the collision which claimed the life of a young child just days after her sixth birthday.
