TUV press Department of Infrastructure on ‘horrendous state’ of Clough Main Street

Councillor Christopher Jamieson (TUV) has written to Department of Infrastructure in

a bid to press the department into action over the ‘horrendous condition’ of the Main Street in village of Clough.

Always at the forefront in the minds of the motorists, the condition of a number of local roads in the Ballymena area have been highlighted recently by the community, including Antrim Road, Raceview Road, Crebilly Road, and Queen Street.

TUV councillor Christopher Jamieson commented:

“I have today written to the Department of Infrastructure about the horrendous condition of Clough Main Street.

“Obviously winter weather takes its toll on road every year but this the longterm neglect of this street is clear for all to see.

“Everyone appreciates that staff and budgets are under pressure but this is a residential area, a road lined with homes, which should never have been allowed to get into anything like this state.”

The text of councillor Jamieson’s letter is as follows:

Dear Sir,

Re. Condition of Clough Main Street

I write to draw your attention to the horrendous condition of the above street and ask for urgent action to address the same.

I appreciate that staff and budgets are under pressure but this is a residential area, a road lined with homes, which should never have been allowed to get into anything like this state.

I have attached photographs highlighting how bad the situation is.

I believe it should be an urgent priority to address this matter.

Yours faithfully,

Cllr Christopher Jamieson
