Northern Ireland holidaymakers can now book their summer 2028 getaways, with Jet2 launching flights and holidays to 21 destinations from Belfast International Airport – including a brand-new direct route to Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast.
The airline and tour operator has released more than 618,000 seats for summer 2028, with up to 56 departing flights each week during peak periods, giving families and couples the opportunity to secure their holidays almost two years in advance.
The programme, which went on sale today (Thursday 8 October), is Jet2’s earliest summer launch yet, with the company saying it is responding to demand from customers eager to plan further ahead.
New Bulgaria route opens up Black Sea holidays
One of the biggest additions is a new and exclusive direct service from Belfast International Airport to Bourgas in Bulgaria, opening up another option for Northern Ireland holidaymakers seeking a summer beach break.
Flights will operate every Wednesday from 5 July until 4 October 2028, providing access to Bulgaria’s popular Black Sea resorts, including Sunny Beach and the historic town of Nessebar.
Bourgas offers a combination of sandy beaches, waterfront restaurants, nightlife and cultural attractions, while nearby Nessebar is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historic old town.
Visitors can also explore Bourgas’ Sea Garden, stroll around its harbour or discover the region’s churches, historic landmarks and traditional Bulgarian food.
21 destinations available from Belfast

The summer 2028 programme covers destinations across Spain, Portugal, Greece, Türkiye, Croatia, Malta, Italy and Bulgaria, alongside the Canary and Balearic Islands.

Customers looking to secure their preferred destination, hotel or travel dates can book Jet2holidays packages with a £60 per person deposit and spread the remaining cost through interest-free monthly payments.
Package holidays include ATOL protection, a choice of two to five-star accommodation and transfers between the destination airport and hotel. Free Child Place Holidays are also available on selected packages.
For passengers booking flights with Jet2, the airline offers a 22kg hold baggage allowance and 10kg hand luggage allowance.
The early launch also gives families seeking larger rooms, interconnecting accommodation or sea-view rooms more time to explore availability before popular options sell out.
Jet2 responds to demand for early bookings
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, said the decision to release the programme so far in advance followed enquiries from customers already planning their 2028 holidays.
He said:
“We are already hearing from customers asking when they can book for Summer 2028, so we’ve responded by putting the programme on sale nice and early. We know our Northern Irish customers work hard for their well-deserved holidays, and this exciting announcement gives them something to look forward to.”
Explaining the advantages of booking ahead, he added:
“By booking early, customers have the best choice when it comes to where they want to go and when they want to travel. Early bookers also get the pick of the best hotels, which are always the first to sell out, as well as the best rooms such as family rooms, interconnecting rooms and rooms with a sea view, which fill up quickly too.
“With 2028 being a particularly special summer for us as we celebrate 25 years of Jet2, we look forward to showcasing our industry-leading customer service and helping our holidaymakers create unforgettable memories.”
More summer holiday options for Northern Ireland
The launch means travellers across Ballymena, Mid and East Antrim and the wider Northern Ireland area can begin planning their 2028 summer holidays from Belfast International Airport without waiting until next year’s traditional booking period.
With the new Bourgas service joining established Mediterranean and European destinations, the programme provides another direct holiday option from Northern Ireland, while further additions are expected to be announced.
Flights and package holidays for summer 2028 are now on sale through Jet2 and Jet2holidays, with customers able to compare destinations, departure dates and accommodation before making a booking.
