Disgraced former DUP Leader Jeffrey Donaldson

Former DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police following an allegation that he raped a woman inside the Houses of Parliament in 2016.
The development comes just days after the 63-year-old former MP was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a series of child sexual offences against two victims.
According to BBC News NI, the woman at the centre of the latest allegation has been interviewed by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), which subsequently referred the matter to the Metropolitan Police because the alleged incident took place in London.
Metropolitan Police confirm investigation
Although the Metropolitan Police did not identify Donaldson by name, the force confirmed it was investigating an allegation of rape involving a man now aged 63.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
"On Tuesday 13 October, the Met received a report referred to us by the Police Service of Northern Ireland relating to an allegation of rape in 2016, by a man now aged 63.
"The allegation relates to one victim who is being supported by specialist officers. The investigation is in its early stages. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
The allegation remains under investigation. No arrest has been made in connection with the latest claim, and Donaldson has not been charged in relation to it.
Former DUP leader jailed for 15 years
The latest development follows Donaldson's sentencing last week to 15 years in prison for sexual offences committed against two victims between 1985 and 2008.
His convictions included the rape of a child under the age of 13, alongside other serious sexual offences.
Donaldson, who previously served as leader of the Democratic Unionist Party and as MP for Lagan Valley, is seeking to appeal his convictions. His solicitor has confirmed that appeal papers have been lodged.
Following his conviction, Donaldson was stripped of his knighthood and removed from the Privy Council.
The Metropolitan Police investigation into the separate 2016 allegation remains at an early stage, with enquiries continuing.
