A major £250,000 investment is set to reshape how homeowners across Northern Ireland plan their outdoor spaces, as Gibson Paving opens the doors to a newly redeveloped paving and outdoor living centre in Portglenone.

The relaunch marks a significant moment for the long-established family business, blending more than four decades of experience with a modern, customer-focused approach designed to inspire and guide visitors through every stage of their outdoor projects.

Family legacy meets modern expansion

Founded 43 years ago by Freddie and Ruth Gibson, the company has grown into one of Northern Ireland’s leading outdoor living specialists, known for high-end paving and hard landscaping solutions.

Now led by second-generation siblings Sharon and Allan Gibson, the business is entering a new phase, building on its strong family foundations while expanding its reach and ambition.

Inside the £250,000 redevelopment

The upgraded facility has been designed to provide an immersive and practical experience, allowing visitors to see, compare and plan outdoor spaces in one location.

From paving styles and materials to complete outdoor living solutions, the centre brings together one of the most diverse product displays available locally, aimed at helping customers make confident, informed decisions for their homes.

Sharon Gibson described the investment as a defining step for the business, saying:

“This investment marks a major milestone for our business. We are incredibly proud of the family ethos and legacy established by our parents over the past 43 years.

“This redevelopment allows Allan and I, alongside our team, to honour that legacy while moving forward with a modern, customer-focused approach.”

Allan Gibson added that the space had been designed with real-life customers in mind, particularly those planning or building their own homes.

“As a family man currently building a new home, this display centre is exactly the kind of space I would want to visit. It’s truly unique,” said Allan.

“Customers can explore a wide range of paving styles, materials, and outdoor living solutions all in one place, helping them bring their vision to life with confidence.”

Boost for local jobs and economy

Beyond the showroom itself, the expansion is expected to deliver wider benefits for the local economy in Portglenone and the surrounding area.

The business has confirmed that new roles will be created across both sales and operational teams as demand grows, supporting employment and reinforcing its position as a long-standing local employer.

With its enhanced facilities and broadened offering, Gibson Paving is aiming to attract customers from across Northern Ireland and beyond, strengthening its reputation for quality, expertise and service.

The redevelopment signals both continuity and change - a business rooted in family tradition, now investing heavily to meet the expectations of a new generation of homeowners and outdoor living enthusiasts.
