Former Ballymena councillor Robin Cherry passes away

Former Ballymena Ulster Unionist Councillor Robin Cherry MBE has sadly died following a short illness.
The well known local man was much respected for his endeavours as a member of the North Antrim farming community, and his role as a councillor in Mid and East Antrim Borough Council up until May 2023. Mr Cherry also served as president of Ballymena Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
A funeral notice from James Henry Funeral Services states:
“Cherry Robert John (Robin) MBE, FRAgS. 26th April 2025, peacefully at hospital, after a very short illness.
“Much loved husband of Adeline, loving father of Adrian and Karen, father in law of Amanda, devoted grandfather of Georgina, Victoria and Catherine a loving brother and uncle.
“Funeral arrangements later.
“Family and friends welcome to call at the family home 40 Carnlea Road Ballymena BT43 6TSF ON Monday and Tuesday from 12noon to 8 pm. No flowers please, donations in lieu if desired may be made payable to N.H.S.C.T. C/o James Henry Funeral Services, 100 Broughshane Street, Ballymena BT43 6EE for Antrim Area Hospital Coronary Care.
