Farmers’ Choir at their 2024 Christmas Concert
The Farmers’ Choir is set to bring festive cheer to communities in Kilrea and Ballymena this December, as it prepares to deliver two special Christmas performances filled with music, Scripture and seasonal celebration.
The Choir will open its December schedule with a traditional Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on Tuesday 2 December at 8pm in St Patrick’s Church, Kilrea.
Audiences can expect a reflective and uplifting evening featuring Scripture readings, much-loved carols and seasonal choral arrangements performed under the direction of musical director Barkley Thompson.
Organisers say the event offers “a warm and joyful start to the festive period for the entire community”, with a retiring offering on the night supporting The NI Hospice and Rural Support’s Life Beyond Charity.
Attendees are also invited to the neighbouring Church Hall afterwards for tea and fellowship.
The festivities will continue the following week as the Farmers’ Choir presents its popular annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 December at The Braid, Ballymena.
These concerts are well-known for their lively blend of traditional and contemporary Christmas music, along with audience favourites that showcase the Choir’s signature energy and musicianship.
Tickets for the Ballymena performances, priced at £15, are available online at shapedbyseaandstone.com or directly from The Braid Box Office. Light refreshments will be served following the concerts.
A spokesperson for the Choir said both evenings are expected to be “memorable highlights of the Christmas calendar”, with the Farmers’ Choir extending a warm welcome to all who wish to join them as they celebrate the music and message of Christmas.
Further information can be found on the Choir’s official Facebook page.
