The PSNI District Support Team (DST) were carrying out patrols in Antrim on Thursday night (3 February) when the driver of the car pictured above decided not to stop for officers.
A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland commented: “This is the outcome of a driver trying to evade the District Support Team in Antrim last night.
“The driver failed to stop for police before losing control of his vehicle, crashing off the road into a lamppost.
“The suspect ran off but was quickly captured a short-time later with the assistance of one of our police dogs who had tracked the run-away.
“Luckily nobody was seriously injured but the manner of the driving from our suspect could have led to serious injury or loss of life!”
